What is Create50?

Create50 is an initiative and creative process that platforms the work of emerging screenwriters, filmmakers, short story writers and allied artists. If you create 'stuff', you should get involved.

We want to get YOUR work out there and seen by the public AND the people who matter within our industries.

And we also want everyone to benefit from the collaborative process that Create50 offers so they can learn more about their art, craft and creative discipline.

Our philosophy is that together, we have strength. Working as a group means that no single creative person has to do all the work and take all the risk, making it easier and more efficient to get results fast. Together, we share the journey AND the rewards. The more you put in, the more you will get out of it.

Currently we are running two kinds of projects...

  • Feature Length Films with Screenwriting and Filmmaking stages. How to get involved HERE
  • Short Stories for publication as a book collection. How to get involved HERE

  • Script Judging - you read scripts, offer feedback and help the judging.
  • Filmmaking Stage - you produce a film. You can also re-edit, based on feedback from filmmakers.
  • Filmmaking Judging - you watch films, offer feedback and help the judging.
  • Premiere and Awards - you are invited to attend.
  • Release - you can get involved in the release of the film.

‘Create50 and 50 Kisses allowed me to see my script interpreted in different ways and I got to work with a whole range of filmmakers, from New Zealand to Los Angeles.’
Mark Pallis, Screenwriter ‘Practice Makes Perfect’ from ‘50 Kisses

Books: Short Story Collections

When a Short Story book project is LIVE it will fall into one of several productions stages.

  • Short Story Submission - you upload your short story
  • Short Story Editing - you rewrite and resubmit your work, based on feedback
  • Short Story Judging - your feedback can help select the winners
  • Final Publication and Book Launch - you are invited to attend
  • Marketing and Distribution of the final book, via all available channels

It has been amazing to be part of something so global. As a result of  Create50 I have met and collaborated with filmmakers,  screenwriters, producers and agents from around the globe’
 Jo Buckman, Writer (USA)

Music, Illustration and Photography

Allied to each initiative, we run additional challenges for creators of music, illustrations and photography.

For films it might be end credit music or the film poster. For books it could be illustrations for each story, or music to help create an immersive reading experience.

We want all creative people to collaborate, get feedback and build lasting relationships for their careers and projects moving forward.

What next?

Get reading, get writing, get filmmaking... GET INVOLVED!

Who Runs Create50?

Create50 is owned and run by The London Screenwriters' Festival team. It began life as a way to actively get screenwriters' work produced. Since then it has blossomed into a larger idea and community, but at the heart remains the same philosophy. Together we have a better chance of getting our work produced and seen. Find out more about the The London Screenwriters' Festival HERE.
