About Me

6 homeschooled kids, 1 husband, 1 son-in-law, 2 grandchildren (so far), 2 cats, 2 dogs, office manager for my husband's medical office, staunch pro-lifer and a practicing Catholic (hope I get it right some day).
Relevantly - I used to be a professional movie critic. OK it was for a throw away trade paper but I did get paid enough for ticket and popcorn --- and paid is paid. LOL Also am the proud co-author of 2 optioned screenplays which have been read and rejected by directors and writers the names with which you may even be familiar!!
I have a blog of movie reviews from a homeschooling Mom's POV; www.homeschoolmommoviemavin.com and am currently trying my hand for the first time at the Nanowrimo - a self-challenging writing "contest" to produce 50,000 words of an original novel in 30 days.
I also have a DRAWER full of unpublished and unproduced screenplays and shorts. Have been writing for fun for as long back as I can remember - dating back to my first attempts on a manual Remington with that oh so resonant "ding" anyone over 50 and those who are fans of My Girl Friday would recognize, a replaceable ink ribbon which got black smears EVERYWHERE and which popped more nails from missed key hits than I care to recall. But I loved the old beast nonetheless.
Big sci fi fan, the proclivity for which I inherited from my father, with a special spot in my heart for all things Star Trek.familiar!! The Singularity50 Book Has A Website

Quick update, we now have a website for The Singularity50. The stories are still, as you know, being read, re-read and judged. But do check out the site and if you would like to write a blog about your experiences and story for The Singularity, drop me a line with it and we will get it published on the site
